Ginger biscuits

-GINGER BISCUITS-

(Ingredients for about 50 biscuits)

1 dl golden syrup

1 ½ dl sugar

125 g margarine or butter

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

½ teaspoon ground cloves

2 teaspoons baking soda

5 dl wheat flour

1 egg


1. Place the butter, sugar, syrup and spices in a small saucepan over low heat. 
Stir  until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Set aside and let it cool slightly.

2. Mix baking soda into the flours. Add an egg and the flours to the mixture. 

Refrigerate the dough until the next day.


3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until 5 mm thick. 
Use biscuit moulds to cut biscuits from the dough.


4. Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper 
and bake them  in 200 degrees until lightly golden-brown.


5. If you want, you can decorate the biscuits with icing sugar when they have cooled.
