about our hometown, Raahe

Raahe is Northern Ostrobothina's second largest city, but it's downtown is quite small. Here's about 70 kilometres from Raahe to Oulu. Raahe is founded in 1649 by Pietari Brahe.

Pattijoki is quite small village about 5 kilometres from Raahe to the countryside. I live in the countryside, in yet the smaller village called Olkijoki. Nowadays, it's connected to Pattijoki.

Here is lots of forests and fields in Olkijoki, and we also have a beach there! It's a nice place in summer for sunbathing and swimming.

In winter we usually have lots of snow, and the temperature is often about 20-25°C, sometimes colder.

You can sometimes see Northern lights here too.
